On my holidays I had time to kill in Dublin airport and picked up a few pieces at the Mac counter.

I had been dying to try the Strobe cream and I am so happy I purchased this. I love highlighters and generally use them on a daily basis. There is nothing nicer then fresh, dewey skin and this product is so perfect for creating this look.

The main reason I am going crazy for this product is it is a subtle highlight.

You will see from my past highlighting post that I have a selection but a lot are better for a night time look. It all depends on how much you use and the look you are going for.

This is a pearlescent colour so suits nearly all skin types. It gives the most beautiful glow and can be worn as a moisturiser if you prefer.

I apply this over my foundation on the typical points: cheekbones, dot on forehead, cupids bow, brow arch. I have recently started applying a tiny bit down the centre of my nose too.
This is also beautiful when mixed in with a light foundation or tinted moisturiser for an all over glow and is what I prefer to do with this product.
To create more of a dramatic look I have been applying Mac gentle touch over the top to add even more sparkle for a night time look.
I recently did a masterclass in contouring with the TAFMUA in Sydney and this product was used in the demos for a lovely day time look.
Check out the pictures below for how I apply. This is essentially what strobing is ( let’s face it, it’s the new buzz word for highlighting that we have all been doing for the past few years right?)
Below I have applied my Garnier tinted moisturiser first followed by Rimmel Wake me up concealer and my Strobe cream.

It’s also much easier and less time consuming then contouring.

Steps:
1. Prime face

2. Apply foundation- if skin is super oily use a matte foundation

3. Apply on the main points of the face where the light hits.

Brushes: I like to use a flat foundation brush to apply this product and pat it on the skin but if you use your fingers you will get the same affect.
A small fluff brush is great too for using on the eye area and cupids bow as it is more precise.

Always remember less is more with product and you can add more if needed at the end. Make up is meant to be fun so if it goes wrong first time don’t get dis – heartened.

Verdict: 5/5

Have any of you tried this and do you prefer it to contouring ?
