Micro needles are used to tickle the top layer of the dermis and create tiny perforations. This trauma in the skin tricks the body to go into healing mode and this triggers the body to produce collagen. This is done in a controlled environment and the skin starts producing collagen and elastin to repair these perforations. Active ingredients are also absorbed into the deeper layers of the skin at this time. This results in a firmer, tighter and brighter complexion. It is important to realise that micro needling is not a quick fix, as it involves the growth of new skin it can take several months for a person to see the full results of the procedure. The overall condition of the skin improves. This is an excellent alternative to some laser treatments as no heat is involved.
A course of 3 is always recommended and 6 may be needed to target certain issues such as stretch marks or scarring.
At JOS we carry out the treatment without numbing cream. It is comfortable without and from our experience down time and results are better. You will be red after the treatment and the skin may feel hot. Post care advice will be provided when leaving. All sessions are combined with Dermalux light. This will help boost results by further stimulating collagen production and will also take down inflammation, reducing redness and downtime.
Skin can stay red for 12-24 hours and dryness can occur 2-3 days post treatment.
We also use exosomes which are the newest regenerative treatment taking the beauty world by storm. Exosomes can be used on all skin types including acne and rosacea (which regular needling cannot be used on) This is due to their anti inflammatory properties
A skin consultation must be carried out to ensure you are suitable for any needling treatment. Certain products can be used prior to ensure the skin is in best health before performing such a treatment.
Dr Dermic GoldPen is the newest device in microneedling technology. The GoldPen is a lighter and faster device, making it more comfortable for us as therapists to use as well as providing an amazing treatment for our clients. The GoldPen now opens over 1,200 microchannels per second, that’s a 30% increase on an already fantastic treatment.
This means more vitamins, proteins, fibroblasts and collagen will be stimulated during the treatment. The faster motor not only results in more microchannels but it also means that the “down cycle” of the needles is reduced. This means that the needles spend less time in the skin resulting in even less chance of bruising or micro-tears.
The Dermica Needle Cartridges come in individual sterile packing which means each microneedle cartridge is used once and then disposed of immediately.This minimises the risk of cross-contamination & infection which is of upmost importance.
