XL PulStar is an IPL device that utilises DPL (Due Pulse Light) narrow spectrum light technology for effective facial skin rejuvenation. The 550 -600 nm and 550- 650nm wavelengths cover the absorption peaks of pigment and oxygenated hemogloblin in the skin, quickly and efficiently treating facial pigmentation, telangiectsaia and redness in the skin.
XL PulStar offers a unique multi wavelength protocol for total skin rejuvenation. Each session uses 2 different wavelengths and multiple passes on the skin to target vascular and pigmented lesions.
This light can lighten skin tone, remove unwanted blemishes and leave skin with a more youthful appearance. Over time lines and wrinkles will soften due to the stimulation of new collagen in the skin. 3-5 sessions are recommended 4 weeks apart.
A complete consultation is required along with a patch test prior to treatment. This is to determine if this is a suitable treatment for your concerns, to devise a treatment plan and to advise on homecare/prep if needed before carrying out the first session.

Common Questions for XL PulStar IPL Treatment
This device has an inbuilt contact cooling system to make treatment more comfortable, however you will feel a snapping sensation on the skin for a second as the light pulses penetrate the skin surface.
Treatment is very safe, you can expect some redness post treatment for a short period and as the pigment moves to the surface they will appear much darker for a number of days until they flake off the surface leaving the skin temporarily pink. After a few weeks the skin will be restored to a more even and youthful skin tone.
This depends on skin type and location and size of blemish and/or redness. Facial thread veins and sun spots can clear quickly, whereas deeper or more extensive lesions may require 3-5 sessions, 4 weeks apart.
